Guizhou University of Finance and Economics Background Information
Profile Established in 1958, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics has developed into a multidisciplinary institution of higher learning focused on economics and administration; but, also includes branches of learning such as science, arts, law, engineering, education, and literature.
Located in Teaching and Research The university currently has 548 full-time teachers, including 107 professors and 296 associate professors (388 with either a Doctoral and/or Master's Degrees). The university has set up the provincial level economics and management research base of humanities and social sciences, the only one in The university pays great attention to the quality of student education; actively builds campus culture; and offers elective courses in humanities, science, and technology, including organizing various extracurricular activities like knowledge and skill competitions. The university sponsors such events as the “Humanities Forums,” “Economics Forums”, and “Science and Technology Forums” throughout the year in order to promote the improvement of student’s ideological and ethical standards, as well as cultural qualities. At present, there are about 10,000 undergraduate students, 100 graduate students and 10,000 students at various levels in the Cooperation The university pays special attention to international exchange and cooperation. Through the exchange of scholars and scientific research cooperation, the university has set up long term cooperation relationships with California State University Fullerton, Hope International University and Oakland University, Montana University in the United States, Brock University, Montreal-MeGill university in Canada, Henry-Watte university in England, University of Bordeaux, University E de Haute-Alsace in France, and Osaka University of Economics and Tokyo KeiZai University in Japan, Sisaket Rajabhat University, Suranaree University of Technology in Thailand, SGP International Management Academy. In addition , the university has joined the Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific.
