Profile
Yangzhou University (YZU), founded in 1902, is one of the key comprehensive universities in Jiangsu Province. The university has around 33,900 full-time undergraduates, 16,000 part-time students and more than 5,300 graduate students in its eight campuses housing 27 colleges. Currently the university has 94 undergraduate programs, covering 11 disciplines of philosophy, economics, jurisprudence, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and administration. The university also offers 133 master’s degree programs, 32 doctoral degree programs and 3 post-doctoral research programs. YZU owns 11 key programs at national and provincial level, 6 key laboratories at ministry and provincial level, as well as 1 provincial engineering technology research center, 1 provincial research institute, 81 scientific research centers and 39 teaching and experiment centers.
Faculty
The excellence of YZU is based on its very dedicated faculty and staff and many of them have an international education background. Around 2,050 faculty members work on campus, including about 200 professors, 910 associate professors. 97 faculty members are entitled to State Fund for Specialists, 29 are entitled as Outstanding Contribution-making Young Experts by the government.
International cooperation
YZU attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation. It has set up close ties and friendly cooperation with many institutions of higher education and learning in countries and regions throughout the world. YZU has a long history in enrolling overseas students. Approved by the Ministry of Education, all YZU programs can accept international students The number of overseas students is on the rise. YZU is also one of the 87 universities authorized by Chinese Government to host Chinese Government Scholarship Students. Now there are students from over 20 countries on campus either pursuing PhD, Master and Bachelor's degrees or taking advanced study courses.
