Padjadjaran State University Background Information
After a thoroughful processes, on the 11th of September 1957, Universitas Padjadjaran was established through the Government Regulation No. 37 dated on 24 September 1957 and officially opened by the President Soekarno on the 24th of September 1957.
At the time of its establishment, Unpad had only four faculties, but now it has developed to become one of the leading higher educational institutions in
Among its 15 Faculties, four of them are new faculties, i.e. Faculty of Nurse, Faculty of Fishery and Marine Science, and Faculty of Technology of Agricultural Industry have just recently established in the academic year of 2005/2006. A new faculty, Faculty of Pharmacy has just recently developed from the Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in academic year 2006/2007 due to the increase of market demand for pharmacists and development in pharmaceutical science.
The vision of Unpad is “to be a nationally and internationally recognized education institution committed to excellence in acquiring, developing, and applying science, technology, and arts”.
The Mission of Unpad is to carry out management of education, research, and community services in accordance with the vision, and to produce graduates who believe in God, smart, self reliant, and cultured.
The Goals of Unpad are:
1. To supply human resources who believe in God, have good manners, civilized, have social responsibility, have competitive force, and have scientific knowledge and academic ability.
2. To develop science, technology and arts through implementation of Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (The three basic functions of university.)
