The Confucius Institute at Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand, co-established by Huaqiao University, had a ceremony for formal establishment on July 7, 2008. A lot of distinguished guests from the administrative authorities, friendly universities, etc, attended the opening ceremony.

The Confucius Institute at KU is not only the fruit of educational cooperation between the two universities, but a grand event in the Sino-Thai Culture and Education exchange. In the past years since its establishment, Confucius Institute at KU has done a lot in the Chinese language education in Thailand, the proliferation of Chinese culture, and non-governmental friendly exchange between two countries. And it is hoped to be the bridge to strengthen the exchange of education and culture between two countries and further promote the friendship between peoples of China and Thailand.

Since the operation in October, 2006, Confucius Institute at KU, based in Bangkok, has carried out a series of events in teaching and culture popularization, such as Chinese language training, Chinese language summer camp for students and teachers, training of local Chinese language teachers, consulting for study in China, providing lectures, seminars, and exhibitions on Chinese language and culture,  organizing HSK examination and test of Chinese language capacity, and offering other services on Chinese books and materials and multimedia materials.
