Profile
Founded in 1951 as the Yunnan Financial Cadres Training School, after over 50 years of development, Yunnan University of Finance & Economics (YUFE) has now grown into a multi-disciplinary university. It is strong in economics, management and law; it also offers philosophy, liberal arts, natural science and engineering education. “Broad Learning and Good Virtues” is the school motto.
YUFE lies in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province. It occupies an area of 1,021 mu (68 hectares) with about 634,000 square meters of floor area.
Departments & International Cooperation
YUFE has set up 17 teaching departments, including the School of Finance, School of Business Administration, International Business School and others. YUFE has 28 undergraduate specialties, including eight provincial key disciplines and four officially sanctioned provincial key subjects. Moreover, YUFE has four first-class disciplines to grant Master's degrees: theoretical economics, applied economics, management science & engineering and business administration. There are other 40 second-class disciplines entitled to grant Masters’ degrees in YUFE.
The teaching personnel of YUFE consists of over 1,300 faculty members including 787 full-time lecturers. Among them, there are more than 300 professors or associate professors and 70 Doctors.
International Cooperation
Aimed at promoting the globalization of higher education and academic research, YUFE has established close links with over twenty universities around the world. These universities include but are not limited to Charles Sturt University, University of West Australia, Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, University of Hawaii, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Keuka College, John F. Kennedy University, Yongon Institute of Economics, Osaka Sangyo University and the University of Greenwich. Moreover, the three joint education programs with Charles Sturt University in Australia, Keuka College (US), and the University of Greenwich in the UK were approved by the academic committee of the state council and have become highlights for the University.
