Profile

Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) is located in Kunming, Yunnan Province. As the largest university in Yunnan Province and one of the well-known universities in China, KUST is a multidisciplinary university offering engineering and science programs.

KUST is composed of three campuses in Kunming City, occupying an area of about 120 hectares. A new campus is under construction in Chenggong city, which occupies an area of about 200 hectares.

Teaching and Research

With the current 24 schools, KUST offers 76 Bachelor programs, 127 Master programs, 41 Ph.D. programs, and 1 MBA program, as well as other programs including post-doctorial, preparatory course, continuing education for adults, vocational training and Chinese language course for international students. The total number of personnel is 3,292, among whom, over 1,176 are associate professors and professors. There is one academician of China Academy of Engineering working for KUST and 23 academicians of China Academy of Science and of China Academy of Engineering jointly working for KUST. Currently there are over 55,000 students, among whom 4,000 are graduate students.

KUST has established cooperative and exchange relationships with more than 70 renowned universities and research institutions in over 30 countries. We sincerely welcome international students from all over the world.
