Profile Teaching and Research The University consists of 24 colleges, with 112 undergraduate majors, ten PhD programs, and 139 Master's programs. All colleges are authorized to confer degrees. These disciplines cover eleven branches of learning: philosophy, economics, law, education, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and administration. Presently, the total number of full-time students is 47,950, of which 4,360 are postgraduates. The University has turned out 150,000 of all various kinds of qualified personnel. The University believes in "Developing itself by relying; The University adheres on talents", and consistently makes great efforts to improve the teaching and research capability of its faculty. Currently, there are 2,372 full-time teachers (including 299 full professors and 714 associate professors). The University has one state-level engineering and technical research center, four key laboratories jointly constructed by the State Ministry of Education and the Provincial Government, 23 provincial key laboratories, four provincial bases for the humanities and social sciences, three state-level postdoctoral research stations for major projects, 91 natural science research organizations, and 21 humanities and social science research organizations. International Cooperation Guizhou University has been granted the status of Educational Aid Center for Asia and Africa (one of only ten in the country), and it recruits international students through the Chinese Government Scholarship Program of Education of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
