From January 21st to 22nd 2008, headed by President Bui Van Ga, the seven- member delegation of University of Danang in Vietnam paid a visit to Guangxi University for Nationalities. Two universities had a negotiation on "3 +1" and "2+2" models for undergraduates, and on collaboratively offering programs for graduates.A partnership agreement was signed. On the morning of 22nd, January, both sides affirmed the achievement made by the current “2+2” and “3+1” models. Further suggestions were proposed to improve the two models.
On the afternoon of 22nd January, delegations of the two universities held a pannel discussion on the collaboration plans on the agreement as well as programs developed for graduates. A consensus was achieved and partnership agreement was signed.
Mr. Bui, President of Danang University said a great achievement was made during the meeting and it is hoped the innovative “1+3” model for graduate students be futher developed so as to cultivate more talents, who can make contributions to help promote the development of the countries.
Mr. Bui’s point of view was much appreciated by Ms. He Longqun, President of Guangxi University for Nationalities. In terms of collaborations on graduate programs, she thought it can help promote the projects jointly done by the two universities. Under the current international situation, the construction of 2010 China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone, together with increasing focus on the construction of Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, the prospect for the future collaboration between the two universities will be promising.
