320,000RMB Government Scholarship July 16 2008, the SCSE in Sichuan Province informed that the Entry Exam of Singapore Management University will be held in Chengdu on August 20. Qualified students are awarded 320,000 RMB by Singaporean government. According to Li Bei, the assistant general manager of SCSE Sichuan province, the exam will take the form of SAT, the entry exam of USA, which means the candidates only need to take two subjects: Math and English. But that doesn’t lower the requirements. The candidate’s score of Chinese College Entry Exam is supposed to be high enough to qualify the student to be admitted by Chinese top universities. And excellence in both Math and English is necessary.
Qualified students will be awarded the scholarship by Singaporean government in their 6-month preparatory. This privilege is also workable during the undergraduate study. But it requires the undergraduate sign with Singaporean government an agreement of a 3-year paid service for the country’s registered corporations. ( During the service, the student enjoys equal salary and benefits with other employees.) And this agreement is not available to commoners. The tuition of Singapore Management University this year is 27,900 Singapore dollars while the awarded student only needs to pay 13,700 Singapore dollars. For the four and half years of studying in Singapore (with 6 months preparatory), it calls for the scholarship by government about 64,000 Singapore dollars, which equals 320,000 RMB.
During the undergraduate, students with outstanding performance may apply for scholarships provided by the university, such as Li Ka Shing scholarship, overseas student scholarship and scholarships sponsored by enterprises.
