“China Dream” of a Vietnam University Girl Student
Vu Luru Ly attracted most of the people’s eyes on the China-ASEAN Youth Arts Festival in Guiyang on 27 July. She is from Vietnam, wearing a bright red long dress of Vietnam, but speaks very good Chinese.
The Youth Arts Festival is an activity in the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. Having studied Chinese in Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) for 4 years, Vu Luru Ly is one of the representatives of Vietnamese Universities in this China-ASEAN Week, and it is the first time she came to China.
Vu couldn't hold back her happiness when she knew she was able to come to China. She said excitedly: “China is very beautiful. For the four years since I began to study Chinese, I have been keeping a China Dream, and hopes to come to China after graduation so that I can improve my Chinese level in the environment of Chinese culture.”
When being praised of her fluent Chinese speaking ability, she was a little shy. “My classmates speak very well, too. They can all speak fluently and naturally.”
“The Chinese Language Department of VNU will enroll about 200 students every school year after strict written and oral tests.” She told the reporter. “Because of more and more Chinese businesses being established in Vietnam and the increasing influence of China in the world stage, Chinese Language learning becomes very hot year after year.”
“It is very convenient to learn Chinese in Vietnam, because we share a lot in language and culture.” Vu said. Although having studied in VNU for four years, she said, China has a long history and a great and profound culture, so she felt that she still had a lot to learn.
“As for me, the Youth Arts Festival has provided a platform for the students from ASEAN countries, where we can communicate with students from China and other ASEAN countries, exchange our experience in learning Chinese, and obtain knowledge of different cultures.” She said. “This activity provides me the chance to make a lot of good friends, and brings my China Dream much closer.”
Then, Vu and her classmates in Vietnam dresses of various colors took photos under the Statue of Confucius in front of the Chinese Academy of Guizhou University.
