Ⅵ- Brief of the Activity
As a national award, the Soong Ching Ling Award for Children's invention (abbr. the Award) was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of P.R.China in 2001. So far, the event has successfully held for 11 times, and in the past 15 years, the Award has attracted millions of children from all over China and some southeast Asian countries. After four-round strict selection, the 12th Award will select out 30 golden awards, 60 silver awards, 165 bronze awards, 12 creativity awards, 12 best painting awards from 2,266 candidate  inventive works. In addition, the Award will also select out 29 outstanding tutorship teachers, 25 excellent organization awards and 28 outstanding technical demonstration bases from all the participating individuals and organizations who actively participated in and supported the event. At this years’ awarding ceremony, up to 400 students and their tutors from 35 delegations will take part in the event. Since the founding of the Award, the event has considerably enhanced the innovative and practical abilities of children from China and ASEAN countries. The Award has also greatly promoted the scientific communication between children of China and ASEAN countries.
